Computer 2

I sit this afternoon at computer #2 at our local Jr. High School. I am here for Mr. Ginalio, in GYM. Of all classes...give me almost anything, ALMOST anything else. In case you didn't know I am a substitute teacher by trade (right now) but in a few weeks will be taking the Praxis Test to hopefully get my teaching certificate. I had my certificate many moons ago, but children came and Rick and I agreed it was important for them to have their mother home! I loved every minute...well most minutes. They have turned out to be sweet, kind, helpful, enjoyable children among many , many other things. (Please, Please pray for me, I need to pass!!!!)
Now that the children are getting older and I feel the urge (actually it's a push from Rick who cant wait for me to get a job with "real" benefits! LOL) to certify and try to find a teaching job. I would love to be a 1st grade teacher! Can you see me? I can!
Life keeps changing, I am so happy with most of the changes!
Until I pass my Praxis I will be sitting here on COMPUTER #2

Reality!

My reality can be so boring.
Each day is pretty much the same thing;
school (work),cooking dinner, no car ~ so no shopping (ugh),
reading, and watching tv.
I admit it. TV is my release!
The best part of TV are the Reality Shows!
They seem to make my boring existance less dull.
I can live through them and become
a Singer
(oh yeah I would win Idol!)
a Top Chef
(I would be the first contestant that Chef Ramsey NEVER screamed at, and because I dont like foul language he would not swear at me!)
America's Next Top Model
(move over Tyra!)
an Amazing Racer
(I love travel, now who to race with?)
Everyone needs a release!
Mine is reality!

Fire Drill

Today I am substitute teaching at the high school for an english teacher, Ms. Vince.
It seemed to be going fine.
Suddenly, the LOUDEST, shrillest, most abnoxous sound came screeching across the school!
A fire drill!
Of course I knew earlier.
It was on the board in the teachers lounge.
Do you think I remembered?
NO, of course not!
I have read the instructions for fire drills,
but I totally had no clue.
Do I lock the door? Stop to take my purse? Wait for the kids or run ahead and save myself?
OH yeah, just a drill, I knew that!
As we 'casually' walked outside I heard one of the administrators say,
"it's taking too long!"
Crap, was that my fault? Should I have left the purse?
I did grab the rolls. I remembered something.
But to top it all off, I didn't recognize any of the kids when we finally got outside.
So now what?
I am so glad there wasn't a fire or I might have lost half of my class.
Who do you take roll of if you can't find them?
(Truth...I finally recognized one long haired, hippy (?) skater kid.) WHEW!
I was in the right spot.
"look cool, Lorri. Act like you know what your doing!"
First fire drill down, I think I can handle this.
Maybe next time I will actually lock the door...It only looked like I did!
Shhh dont tell!

Girls VS Boys

So when Taylor was a little girl I asked her if she would like a grilled cheese sandwich.
She loves her older brother and worries about him.
"so mommy, does David get a boy cheese?"
So sweet and adorable! I love that little girl!
